A poster showcasing Prabhas boldly proclaimed, “Record-breaking blockbuster. ₹295.7 crore GBOC (2 days worldwide).” The accompanying caption declared, “The hunting season begins… Salaar dominates the global box office, surpassing ₹295.7 crore GBOC (worldwide) in just 2 days!” Set in the fictional city of Khansaar, Salaar narrates the tale of two friends, Deva and Vardha, portrayed by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, whose camaraderie transforms into intense rivalry.

About Salaar

Salaar features an ensemble cast including Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, and Sriya Reddy. This film stands as the grandest collaboration between Prashanth and Prabhas, marking their first joint venture to craft a colossal, action-packed cinematic spectacle. Prabhas takes on the titular role of Salaar in the movie.

Salaar review

According to The Hindustan Times review, “Salaar demands your complete attention. The first half masterfully builds momentum, keeping you engrossed, but the second half experiences a slight decline. It seems a bit stretched with some intricate scenes that could have been trimmed, reducing the runtime by at least 20 minutes. Nevertheless, Salaar’s captivating narrative is enriched by intricately layered characters delivering nuanced performances. Prabhas, who faced setbacks with Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush, has finally made a robust comeback.”

Salaar Movie Budget

In contrast to reports suggesting that the production expenses for ‘Salaar Chapter 1- Ceasefire’ ranged from Rs 350 to 400 crores, a credible source from the team asserts that the actual cost was below Rs 300 crores. The source, who was part of the production, states, “The total production expenditure for ‘Salaar’ is just over Rs 270 crores, covering star and technicians’ fees, production costs, and VFX work.” The source credits director Prashanth Neel and producer Vijay Kirgandur for meticulously planning and effectively managing costs to stay within budget.
