Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro launched with Tensor G3 processor and improved camera

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are Google’s flagship smartphones for 2023. They were announced on October 4, 2023 and are expected to be released on October 20, 2023.

Both phones are powered by the new Google Tensor G3 chip, which is said to be even faster and more efficient than the previous generation. They also both have 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD card.

Powerful Performance with Google Tensor G3 Chipset

Both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are powered by the cutting-edge Google Tensor G3 chipset, boasting a total of 9 cores. This chipset includes a single Cortex-X3 prime core, four Cortex-A715 cores, and an additional four Cortex-A510 cores. The standard Pixel 8 model offers up to 8GB of RAM, while the Pro model takes it up a notch with a whopping 12GB of RAM.

Google’s Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have made their debut, both running on the latest Android 14 operating system and driven by Google’s formidable Tensor G3 chipset. Ensuring top-notch security, they also incorporate the Titan M2 security chip, and with up to 12GB of RAM, they’re poised for high-performance tasks. While the Pixel 8 sports a 6.2-inch OLED display with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, the Pixel 8 Pro takes it up a notch with a larger 6.7-inch OLED screen that offers an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate.

Both smartphones in the Pixel 8 series share a powerful 50-megapixel primary camera, with the Pixel 8 adding a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera to its arsenal. Meanwhile, the Pro variant steps it up with a 64-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. The front-facing selfie camera for both models is an 11-megapixel shooter, neatly placed within a central hole-punch display cutout.

In terms of battery life, the Pixel 8 packs a 4,575mAh battery with support for speedy 27W charging. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro boasts an even larger 5,050mAh battery, which can be charged at a blazing 30W. These smartphones offer robust security features, including facial recognition, and they also come equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner for convenient and secure biometric authentication.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Price

Pixel 8 price in India is set at Rs. 75,999, while the Pixel 8 Pro is priced at Rs. 1,06,999. This means the prices of the phones have risen by 26.6 percent and 25.8 percent, respectively — the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were priced at Rs. 59,999 and Rs. 84,999 at launch. Pre-orders for the Pixel 8 phones are now open on Flipkart.

The regular Pixel 8 can be purchased at Rs. 64,999 in India, with a Rs. 11,000 discount that comprises a bank discount of Rs. 8,000 and an additional exchange discount of Rs. 3,000. Similarly, you can avail of a Rs. 13,000 discount — this includes a Rs. 9,000 bank discount and a Rs. 4,000 exchange discount — to purchase the Pixel 8 Pro at Rs. 93,999.

You can avail of these discounts by using your Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Bank cards to purchase the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro, according to details shared by the e-commerce platform.
